All GEX International Long Block VW engines are Hot Run Tested. This means that we temporarily install carburetion and other accessories to actually fire them up to run our complete battery of tests before the GEX name goes on.
If you have a 72 thru 75 Bus and would like to upgrade from your 1.7 or 1.8 engine to a 2.0 liter engine, use part number GX10725H below and we'll set it up correctly for your early Bus. Or for some additional performance beyond that, please see the GEX International POWER MASTER engines on the next page.
The 1.7-1.8 engines with crate below weigh 182 pounds. The 2.0 engines with crate below weight 202 pounds.

What is a core charge ??
All GEX Premium stock engines are covered by our nationwide, no hassle 12 months or 12,000 mile warranty. See warranty card for details. .
The above core charges are additional. These amounts are refundable if returning an equivalent rebuildable engine core. However, if purchasing a 2.0 liter engine and returning a 1.7 or 1.8 liter engine, the core refund would be 400.00, if rebuildable. The 2.0 liter engine numbers start with GD, GE or CV.
To make that engine run cooler, smoother, longer and with less maintenance, we recommend that you consider the following options: |

Electronic Balancing - For longer life and a smooth running engine. |
|
Counterweighted Crankshaft - Allows engine to run smoother and ultimately to last longer. |
|
Maxi Oil Pump - Closer tolerances than a stock pump, provides added volume and increased oil pressure during low speed operation. |
|
Installation Kit - Now is the time to replace those worn out or missing accessories. |
|
The same 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty applies to engines with these options.
